CITY MARCH ON BUT RACHEL TAKES PERSONAL PRIZE
GLASGOW CITY continue to be a tough nut to crack as they bid to win an 11th title in a row.
They beat Spartans 4-0 on Wednesday and tomorrow host Stirling University, who are reeling after their heavy 4-1 loss to Celtic last weekend.
But Stirling did have some news to cheer this week with Rachel Donaldson being named the first Scottish Building Society Player of the Month. She won the September award through a public vote after being nominated by managers in SWPL 1 and 2.
Donaldson said: “I’m honoured. There were really impressive performances in both divisions so it means a lot to have been voted as the best player for the month.”
In the Granite City nothing less than a win for Aberdeen will do when they host Hamilton Accies. A draw will see Aberdeen relegated to SWPL 2.
Celtic travel to Spartans where they could wrap up third place.
Hibs produced a fine second-half performance in midweek to see off Rangers who they meet again in Glasgow tomorrow.
Hibs manager Kevin Milne said: “We’ve spoken about this being the business end of the season.
“This is the part of the season when big teams can drop points and anything can happen.
“So for us to get through the second half was a real professional performance from us.
“I never underestimated Rangers but they were very good and it’ll be a good game on Sunday again.”
