Dale will find out we’re the meal deal now

- GAVIN BERRY

MARK RIDGERS wants to give Livingston some food for thought with a win today – and earn a slap-up meal from best pal Dale Carrick.

The Inverness keeper is ready to come up against his former Hearts team-mate at the Tony Macaroni Arena and they have already planned a night out in Edinburgh afterwards.

Ridgers said: “I still speak to Scott Robinson and Dale Carrick who I played with at Hearts.

“I’m actually going out for food in Edinburgh with Dale on Saturday night and we’ve struck a bet that whoever loses can pick up the bill.

“Dale’s fiance Allison was bridesmaid at my wedding and my wife Emma will return that favour when they get married next summer.

“I was maybe even going to stay at Dale’s house for the weekend but we forked out for a hotel because I didn’t fancy his cooking.

“Livingston showed when they beat us 3-1 at our place earlier in the season just how good they are. But there has been an improvement from us with back-to-back wins and the performances have lifted as much as anything.

“We’re looking to push up the table and close the gap. Livingston are difficult to play against because they work for each other.

“But I’m 100 per cent convinced they will see a different Inverness side because we’ve improved all round the team. We haven’t conceded in five games and we’re scoring as well.”

Craig Halkett insists he always expected Caley Thistle to come good this season.

And the Livi skipper is under no illusions how difficult a 90 minutes Livingston face today.

Halkett said: “We’re expecting a tough game. They had a really disappointing start to the season and nobody really expected that.

“But everyone knew they would start to win games. We know it’s going to be a difficult game but we’ll be ready for it.”
