Turf luck will rattle the Reds
XAVIER TOMAS hopes Aberdeen’s poor record at the Superseal Stadium is weighing on their minds.
The Dons have won just one of their last six Premiership games at Hamilton and are winless in their last three, although they did win 1-0 in the Betfred Cup this season.
Defender Tomas believes the miserable run will be playing on the minds of the Reds players and the plastic pitch could also be a factor.
He said: “I don’t think they like to come here and we need to keep it that way.
“It’s a psychological problem for them and this can help us again to do well against Aberdeen here.
“Of course, the pitch can help us. We train on the synthetic pitch and we know how to deal with it.
“When you play all the time on a normal pitch it can then be difficult to adapt to it.
“We can beat Aberdeen. We can beat all teams here. We need to fight for that.”
Accies ended an eightgame winless run – picking up just two points during that period – with victory at Dens Park last week.
That has given Martin Canning’s men a lift but Tomas knows the challenge they face against a side just a point off leaders Celtic.
He said: “Aberdeen are one of the best teams after Celtic. They play very good offensive football.
“But we are in good shape. I didn’t think we deserved to have zero points from that run, we’d been working hard.
“The Dundee display had been coming. Now I hope we can move on from this.”
Argentinian Antonio Rojano netted in the Tayside victory and Tomas believes he can make up for lost time after a frustrating wait for international clearance before his debut last month.
Tomas added: “He is a good player and brings something different to our attack.
“I bring him to training because he doesn’t have a car. The first month wasn’t easy for him — but he’s happy now. He wants to make his name here.”
