THE family of a young man who fell to his death at Parkhead are suing Celtic over the tragic incident.

Nathan McSeveney, 20, had been watching Scotland play Ireland in November 2014, when he plunged three floors down a stairwell at the Lisbon Lions stand and later died in hospital.

It is believed his family will raise concerns in court over the height of barriers in the stadium.

Chris Aitchison said: “No person that goes to a football game should ever lose their life. It’s very tragic and devastating for the lad and his family.

“If there are safety issues at Celtic, then like any venue, these should be made safe.”

Pauline Jones said: “RIP to this young man and condolences to the family but this is a tragic accident.”

But Alex Fisher said: “When St Johnstone played there in the cup final, we had seats high up. It was hard for people coming down to the ground exits as there were no way of holding on as you exited. My mother found it difficult.”
