Gunn jnr is given call – for England Ron’s praise thrills United star Rashford
ANGUS GUNN followed in dad Bryan’s footsteps last night as he earned his first senior international call-up.
But the keeper won’t be pulling on a Scotland jersey like his old man – because he’s representing the Auld Enemy.
Man City kid Gunn, who is on loan at Norwich, has been drafted into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for tomorrow’s friendly with Brazil after Stoke’s Jack Butland broke a finger.
Dad Bryan won six Scotland caps but his boy, born in Norwich, has played for the English from Under-16 level upwards. BRAZIL legend Ronaldo has revealed he sees shades of himself in Marcus Rashford.
The three-time World Player of the Year, widely regarded as one of the greatest hitmen of all time, spoke glowingly of the Manchester United marksman.
Ronaldo said: “I see some of myself in him. He has courage, is fast and very good with the ball.”
Now 41, Ronaldo is likely to be at Wembley tomorrow to see Rashford in the flesh as England take on Brazil in a friendly.
Rashford, 20, said: “He was obviously a top player who won a lot of things in his career, so when you know he’s saying good things about you it really stands out.”
