Economy faces blow

OVER the weekend BiFab, who deliver major fabrication works from facilities in Fife and Lewis to the oil and gas, renewable and infrastructure sectors, filed for administration.

This is hugely worrying, not only for the 1400-person workforce, but for Scotland’s economy as a whole.

The Scottish Government and trade unions need to get round the table to establish all the available options to save BiFab and secure the hundreds of skilled jobs that have been put at risk.
