Olympic hero marks another magic Mo-ment

-

THERE was only ever going to be one way for Britain’s most successful track athlete to celebrate receiving his knighthood from the Queen – doing the Mobot.

Four-time Olympic and six-time world champion Sir Mo Farah was honoured yesterday for his services to athletics.

The 34-year-old long-distance runner said: “As an eight-year-old coming from Somalia and not speaking a word of English, to be recognised by your country is incredible.”

He was joined at Buckingham Palace by Delia Smith, 76, who became a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour for cookery – which she said is “poncy” now.

She added: “If I get one more plate with six dots of sauce on it I’ll go mad.”
