Royals ace Moore’s on radar for Celts boss
BRENDAN RODGERS has put Reading defender Liam Moore at the top of his list of January transfer targets.
And the Celtic boss is ready to test the resolve of his former club with a move for the £5million-rated player – who can operate as a centre-back and right-back.
Rodgers admitted central defence is an area he wants to strength when the transfer window opens again in the new year.
And 24-year-old Moore, above left, has
caught the eye of the Parkhead gaffer after impressing since joining the Royals from Leicester last summer.
Moore signed a new four-year deal at the Madejski Stadium after flourishing under the guidance of former Holland and Manchester United centre back Jaap Stam.
The former England Under-21 international started out at hometown club Leicester but had loan spells at Bradford and Brentford early in his Foxes career.
Rodgers is keen to strengthen the heart of his defence after injuries to key players at crucial times this season have been a real hindrance.
The Hoops boss has been forced to play Nir Bitton as a makeshift central defender at times and Moore is seen as someone who could strengthen that area.
