Sister act helps land night’s stay in massive Lego home
A LEGO-MAD family have won a night in a huge house made with more than 25million of the multi-coloured bricks.
The dream came true for the Woollacotts, who entered a competition run by online accommodation firm Airbnb.
The family, from Johnshaven, Aberdeenshire, beat more than 24,000 entrants by answering the question – “If you had an unlimited supply of Lego bricks, what would you build?”
Their answers impressed the judges so much that they walked away with the top prize.
Mum Susan, 43, said her daughters Izzy, four, and seven-year-old Heather came up with the winning entry.
She said: “Heather wants to be an astronaut and Izzy wants a noodle shop. They can’t imagine being separated and Izzy is worried her sister will be hungry in outer space. With an infinite supply of Lego bricks, we would build a life size Squishy Noodle takeaway attached to the International Space Station.”
Susan, husband Nick, 40, and the girls will head to the newly built Lego house in Billund, Denmark, later this week.
They will be given “Lego-proof ” shoes to survive walking around the 12,000-square metre house and will sleep beneath a six-metre high Lego waterfall. The trip coincides with Izzy’s fifth birthday, which she celebrates on Saturday.
Susan added: “It’s the trip of a lifetime for us. Heather can barely speak she’s so excited and Izzy isn’t sure what’s happening but is very happy nonetheless.”
