HUW JONES reckons his wonder try against the All Blacks on Saturday gave Scotland fans a glimpse into the “fast and furious” future under Gregor Townsend.

And the centre who can’t stop scoring is adamant the team have enough left in the tank to end the Autumn Tests on a high this weekend against Australia.

Much has been made about head coach Townsend’s desire to play “the fastest brand of rugby in the world” leading up to the 2019 World Cup – and they did that to give New Zealand an almighty scare last Saturday before being edged 22-17.

With two minutes to go Jones, 23, bagged his sixth try in just 10 internationals with a wonderful team move that sent Murrayfield wild and has become an internet hit. Glasgow ace Jones said: “It was a really nice try, it was just a pity it wasn’t earlier in the game as we lost but it shows what we are all about now.

“We want the backline linking up on the edge. It was a nice move and the kind of thing Gregor is always getting us to work on.

“The backline is exciting for Scotland and it’s a nice weapon that we’ll be playing week in, week out with each other with Glasgow and the national team.

“It will be nice for us to all gel together for the rest of the season.

“A lot did go right for us against the All Blacks but quite a bit went wrong as well. We’ll be looking at those mistakes and we know we can beat Australia at our best.”
