THE family of a three-month-old baby who died with no warning told of their torment yesterday.

Cruiz Patrick was found not breathing by mum Jade Kelly at home in Kilsyth, near Glasgow, on Tuesday morning.

Medics responded to her frantic 999 call but were unable to save the little boy.

Yesterday, Cruiz’s devastated grandad, George Patrick, 59, said the death had left the family distraught.

He said: “It has been a nightmare, a total nightmare.

“I’ve buried my mum, my dad and my brother. I’m from a big family but nothing has prepared me for this.

“To have to deal with the passing of a little baby, it is beyond my experience of life.”

Cruiz weighed just 4lb 3oz when he was born on August 18.

Jade, 26, and Cruiz’s dad Dayle Patrick, 34, who got engaged on Christmas Day 2012, proudly posted photos on social media of their new arrival after his birth.

In one, Dayle wrote: “My wee baby boy Cruiz Patrick. The newest and most important addition to our family.

“I can’t explain how much love I have for him. My life just changed the moment I saw him. He’s so beautiful and perfect.”

Earlier this month, Dayle posted more photos of his little boy, saying: “Pics of my wee champ Cruiz with his mummy. He’s so gorgeous.”

And on November 15, Jade posted photos of her holding her son, with love heart emojis placed on the picture.

The family were in a state of shock yesterday.

George said: “Cruiz was in the house with his mum. She found him.

“The first thing I knew was when Dayle and myself were called to the hospital.

“Almost as soon as we got there, we were met by staff who said that Cruiz had passed away. We didn’t know what to do. We just sat and looked at each other. From there on it just got worse and worse and worse.”

Doctors did not find an obvious cause of Cruiz’s death.

George added: “It seems to be natural causes.

“The post-mortem is inconclusive. So we’re grieving and we are in limbo.

“No one has really slept. I’ve not slept for three days and Jade and Dayle are beyond distraught.

“We can’t even make any arrangements as yet. It is just limbo.”

Police Scotland said: “Around 1100 hours on Tuesday, the body of a threemonth-old baby boy was discovered within a house in Balmalloch Road in Kilsyth.

“Following a post-mortem examination, police are currently treating the death as unexplained.

“A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
