WE’VE SCOTT TO MAKE BELIEF COUNT

-

SCOTT BOOTH has vowed to end Hibs’ recent dominance in the women’s cup competitions.

Both trophies were claimed by the Edinburgh side last season before they went on to retain the SWPL Cup this term.

And as the clubs prepare to do battle in tomorrow’s SSE Scottish Women’s Cup Final, Booth is determined to see Glasgow City come out on top. He said: “In the last couple of seasons Hibs have managed to just pip us in the cups and that’s something I’d like to put right.

“I’m sure the players would as well, given the fact Hibs were able to get a double last season. It would be nice to take one of those trophies back off them.”

City defeated Hibs in the penultimate league game of the season to claim a historic 11th title in a row.

And the City boss added: “You could say we could bring a bit of confidence into the cup game from a previous win.

“Or do you look at Hibs as wanting a bit of revenge for a previous defeat?

“The games we have played against Hibs are all different and all had their own little edge.

“As a management team we work really hard and love to see the girls play well and win.

“Ultimately it comes down to them going out and performing, which they did a couple of weeks ago – and I’m hoping they can do exactly the same again in the Cup Final.”
