KEVIN MILNE has backed Hibs to put their league heartache behind them and lift the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup.

The Edinburgh side were pipped to the title a fortnight ago by Glasgow City after running the champions close all season.

Scotland’s top two come face to face again tomorrow as they battle for the final trophy of the campaign.

And Hibs boss Milne said: “You can see the excitement in the players – it’s another chance for silverware and to put the demons behind them from the league game against City.

“It was disappointing not to win the league but the girls are in good form, focused and looking forward to the game. It’s a big occasion for them so what’s not to look forward to?

“I don’t think the opposition is the motivation – just the fact it’s a cup final and an opportunity to win silverware.

“We don’t want to go into the game with the mentality we’re out for revenge as sometimes you can get a bit disjointed and lose discipline. We’ll go in with a game plan and try to upset the odds. It should be a very entertaining game.”

Hibs won both cups last season and have the SWPL Cup in the bag again this year.

Milne added: “We are getting closer to City so to top it off with the trophy this weekend would mean last season wasn’t a fluke. The girls have worked hard for it.”
