A MAN has been arrested after a £1.1million drugs raid.

Police stopped a car on Cumbernauld Road, in Muirhead, Glasgow, on Tuesday and recovered the drugs, believed to be amphetamine.

They later found what was thought to be heroin and mixing agents at an address in Bothwell, Lanarkshire.

A 40-year-old man has been detained. Being a football fan changes the brain, say scientists. A study showed supporters treat followers of the same team like loved ones. SCOTS singer Emeli Sande fell victim to fraudsters who tried to empty £300,000 from her bank account, a court heard.

The four-time Brit Award winner, of Alford, Aberdeenshire, and ex-husband Adam Gouraguine were targeted in an alleged inside job at Barclays Bank.

A trial was told con artists obtained a bank card in Adam’s name, using it to request a £290,000 transfer from their joint account.

A mystery fraudster at the Marylebone branch of Barclays in London allegedly had the PIN number and Adam’s personal details.

But Adam spotted the activity on the account and alerted the bank who recovered the cash, jurors at Inner London Crown Court heard.

The fraud took place in December 2014, a year after 30-year-old Emeli’s marriage to childhood sweetheart and marine biologist Adam had ended.

The pair had still been sharing a joint bank account.

Barclays cashier Rasad Salam, 25, is accused of being the fraudsters’ inside man, ordering a new card for the joint account and passing on Adam’s personal details.

He is also accused of targeting other accounts at the branch where he worked in London’s Whitechapel and assisting in frauds worth about £50,000. Prosecutor Alisdair Smith said: “One of the reasons the account of Emeli Sande and Adam Gouraguine was targeted in the first place is it might be expected to have significant amounts of money in it.”

Jurors heard Salam’s log-in details were used to access Emeli and Adam’s account in September 2014.

Salam, from London, denies 13 counts of fraud by abuse of position. The trial continues.
