Wet, wet and getting wetter

-

THE I’m A Celebrity camp are on “high alert” for an evacuation at the end of the week, with thunderstorms and up to eight inches of rain forecast over the coming days.

A severe weather warning was issued yesterday for an area of Queensland just 40 miles away from camp, with flash flooding predicted.

A show source said: “Today’s rain is just the beginning. We are on high alert and are keeping our fingers crossed, but there is a very real possibility we will have to evacuate camp at some point.”

The camp was evacuated in 2015 when bosses moved the celebs from the main camp to take shelter in the Bush Telegraph as torrential rain poured into the jungle.

The bad weather also meant cameras and lighting used on the show have lost power in the last few hours.

But there are still 11 contestants in camp and if they needed to take shelter before any evictions take place, the Bush Telegraph would not be big enough.

An ITV spokesman said: “We will continue to monitor the situation with our safety experts at all times.”

Earlier, Boris Johnson’s dad Stanley cost the campers food as he struggled in a throwing challenge alongside Labour MSP Kezia Dugdale.

Johnson, 77, has been ruled out of many challenges on the ITV show on medical grounds, but was able to take part in Fear Factory.

The trial saw the former Scottish Labour leader in a critter-filled box, answering questions and posting balls for Johnson to throw.

But Johnson, who was lying on a rotating cog, frequently missed the pipe he was aiming for to score points, leaving hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly howling

with laughter.
