Judy Murray Christmas

- BRIAN MCIVER

JUDY Murray swaps centre court for centre stage in the first pictures of the Strictly Come Dancing all-star Christmas reunion show.

The one-off special will see the tennis coach make a return to the floor for the first time since her popular turn in the dance show in series 12.

Also returning are newsreader Katie Derham and former Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, while the men on the comeback trail include footballer Robbie Savage, athlete Colin Jackson and newsman Jeremy Vine.

The Christmas Day special will be hosted as usual by glam duo Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, with judging team Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli joined by head judge Shirley Ballas in her first appearance in a Strictly festive special.

Judy, who will be partnered with professional dancer Neil Jones, said: “I promise to be every bit as bad as before and to enjoy it every bit as much.”

Katie, who will be dancing with Brendan Cole, said: “Being parachuted on to planet Strictly two years ago was the most joyful, challenging but hilarious and brilliant thing I’ve ever done. I cannot wait to dust off the sequins and get back in the training room.”

Kimberley, who will be back with previous partner Pasha Kovalev, added: “I am absolutely thrilled to be getting my dancing shoes on again. It’s going to be wonderful to be back in the Strictly bubble for Christmas.”

The studio audience will vote for the winner who will lift the Silver Star trophy for the festive spoils.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Christmas special will air on Christmas Day at 6.30pm on BBC1.
