WINDASS SNR: GET WISE TO IT JOSH

- We’ve already taken some decent points from some tough venues

JOSH WINDASS has revealed his old man dived into the recent row at Aberdeen by telling him he must get smarter with his simulation.

Former Dons favourite Dean hailed his boy’s match-winning show as 10-man Rangers won 2-1 at Pittodrie 10 days ago.

But he agreed on social media chat his boy went down too easily early on in the game as he copped a yellow card from Willie Collum.

Windass junior and senior chatted on the phone and Josh said: “He said if I was going to do it (dive), do it properly. He was buzzing I had scored at Aberdeen. He thought we were the better team and didn’t think it was a sending off for Ryan Jack.”

Windass, 23, isn’t expecting a walk in the park at Hibs tonight after missing a second-half thriller against Celtic because he was out with his pooch.

But he insists confidence is high after Rangers put together three wins in a row for the first time in 12 months with the head-to-head victories over Aberdeen followed by a 2-1 win over Ross County.

Windass added: “We have won our last three games so we’ve got that off our back and there’s a bit of momentum.

“I watched the first half of the Hibs-Celtic game on Sunday but not the second as I was out with the dog.

“We were on top and playing well in the first match we played Hibs this season but Ryan’s sending off changed it. They have a good squad and kept the ball from us for long periods when we were down to 10 men.”

Rangers may have struggled for consistency and are without a permanent boss but they’re still only five points behind Celtic who have the added luxury of a game in hand.

Windass added: “Last season Celtic were outstanding and they’ve started this one well too. The title? With their budget they are favourites but you never know in football.”

said: “I’m a little fed up listening to Brendan Rodgers praising wonderful people, beautiful people and great human beings.

“I take it Leigh Griffiths doesn’t come into any of these categories as he has to play second fiddle to the overweight Moussa Dembele and the hopeless Odsonne Edouard.

“If he ends up selling Griffiths he is going to lose an awful lot of the fans so beware Brendan.”

said: “I don’t know why Celtic are sleeping when it comes to John McGinn.

“He is a midfield powerhouse and is head and shoulders above any midfielder at Celtic and if they don’t move quickly he’ll be off to England soon.

“He’s a Celtic type player through and through and the best midfielder since Paul McStay or John Collins.”

And said: “There will be an uproar down Easter Road if McGinn ends up at Nottingham Forrest for a fee similar to Jason Cummings. There is no way Mark Warburton will be shelling out £1million to land McGinn. Neil Lennon’s valuation of £5m is much more like it.” CALL THE HOTLINE TODAY FROM 11 TILL 12 NOON on: 0141 309 3306 or email us: hotline@dailyrecord.co.uk
