GROWING MOUNTAIN OF GIFTS
A MUM slammed for giving her three children 210 Christmas presents has defied her critics – by buying even more gifts this year.
Emma Tapping’s photo of her Christmas tree surrounded by an enormous pile of presents went viral on Facebook in 2015, leading to accusations that her kids were “spoiled rotten”.
This year, you can barely see her 6ft tree behind an even bigger mountain of 230 gifts.
Emma, 37, from the Isle of Man, who runs a holiday cottage and a cleaning business, said: “Because I start shopping in January, I don’t keep a tally of how much I spend, but I think it must be about £2000.
“Christmas has always been a big day for me and I like to carry that on.
“I don’t really care what people think. I work hard. I have two jobs. I think to myself, ‘It’s my money and they are my kids.’
“If I want to spoil them at Christmas, I’m going to do it and nobody is going to change my mind.
“I don’t care what people think. I’m too busy enjoying myself. I love everything about Christmas.”
Emma insisted she doesn’t spoil Mia, 15, Ella, 11, and Tatum, three, throughout the year.
She said: “If they want something, they have to do chores and buy it themselves.
“If they break their phones for example, they don’t just get a new one from me.
“They get stuff they need but they don’t get spoiled.”
There are 85 presents each for Mia and Ella this year and 60 for little brother Tatum.
