A TRANSGENDER man has given birth to a baby five years after having his first child as a woman.

Kaci Sullivan, who conceived little Phoenix with partner Steven last February, is believed to be the world’s first person to have a tot as both a male and a female.

The 30-year-old began his gender transition four years ago, but has struggled with identity since childhood.

And despite facing online abuse and people staring at his bump in the street, Kaci spoke out in a bid to break the stigma around trans parenthood.

The business student, who will raise Phoenix gender neutral, said: “Some people have been perturbed by the idea of me giving birth, but I don’t engage or respond to them. If I see those comments, I just get rid of them.

“They will try to find our safe space and violate it with their opinions, but they are jerks. I don’t waste my time or energy by giving them anything in return.

“The moment the baby came out and I got to hear them cry was indescribable. It’s incredible to think that I had made this little human. After 26 weeks of morning sickness and seven days in labour, it was such a beautiful moment.

“We are just so happy and grateful and enjoying spending time as a family. The baby is delightful, loving and sweet.

“The connection I’ve felt to them throughout my pregnancy has been an incredible privilege and the last nine months have brought my partner and I so close together.”

Kaci, who runs the TransLiberation Art Coalition, promoting activism in art, was born a girl.

But he knew from a young age he was in the wrong body. The problem was made worse as he suffered abuse which began when he was four.

Kaci, from DeForest, Wisconsin, met his first love at 19 and married him in 2010. But by his early 20s, he was battling depression and drinking excessively.

He got pregnant in 2011 with son Grayson and hoped becoming a mother would make him feel more feminine.

But that never happened. Kaci said: “I prayed to connect with womanhood, to identify with what was happening to my body, but I couldn’t.

“I felt so hopeless and lost. I wanted to die. I fell into such a dark place and I was

PALOMA Faith has spoken about her decision to keep her baby’s gender private.

The singer refused to reveal the tot’s name or sex after giving birth with boyfriend Leyman Lahcine last December.

Speaking to TV’s Lorraine Kelly, Paloma said: “I don’t want to mention my child’s gender because I want them to have the choice of letting people know who their mum is when they’re older.

“They might be a shy person and not like the attention.”

Paloma said people had been confused when she said she wanted the child to be gender neutral, not realising it was for privacy reasons. But she also said she doesn’t want to put gender labels on the tot.

She added: “It’s very important for boys to learn about nurturing and dolls do that and girls can climb trees so they can become scientists and astronauts.”

terrified to bring a baby into that darkness with me.

“But the moment they put him in my arms, it was bliss. Immediately, I loved him like I had never loved anything or anyone and I felt such a surge of duty to him.”

Three months after Grayson’s birth, Kaci came out as transgender and told how he “felt like a ton of bricks” had been lifted.

The revelation led to his marriage breaking down and many friends cutting
