UNSTOPPABLE
City grab EPL win record in top style
CITY produced a Supersonic performance to set a new Premier League record of 15 consecutive wins.
The visitors pumped up the volume by listening to Oasis before kick-off then set about outclassing Swansea with a swagger to match the Gallagher brothers.
Stand-in skipper David Silva hit the opener after 27 minutes, meeting Bernard Silva’s pass to score for the third game in a row.
Kevin de Bruyne, a talent fit to grace any stage, added No.2 before half-time with a free-kick that evaded everyone and nestled in the net.
Swansea’s misery was prolonged with more sensational stuff from City after the break. Silva scooped in his second after a one-two with Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero got in on the act with a late solo fourth.
City’s celebrations weren’t as raucous as the post-match party at Old Trafford that sparked Sunday’s infamous tunnel bust-up.
But the title gets closer by the day and Pep Guardiola’s men have also a new record for the best start to an English top-flight season with 16 wins and a draw.
Guardiola said: “We are so demanding for our players. We can lose, we can drop points but complacency will never happen.
“Winning 15 games in a row gives us a lot of confidence. If people are happy watching us that is the best gift.
“Considering we have a lot of games in our legs, a demanding game at Old Trafford three days ago, we were solid, serious and made a good performance. I’m so happy for David Silva, we cannot disguise his quality but in the past he didn’t score too may goals. He’s sharp, he’s in an amazing condition.”
