McCann Dee-mands a strong reaction

-

RAGING Neil McCann has demanded Dundee redeem themselves in Saturday’s crunch basement battle after the wheels came off their revival.

The Dens boss laid into his troops following the insipid 2-0 loss at Hearts on Tuesday that dropped them into the relegation play-off spot.

The high of successive wins over Rangers and Ross County has quickly been forgotten after back-to-back defeats to Aberdeen and Hearts. Now McCann wants a positive reaction when bottom club Partick Thistle visit.

He said: “It’s a chance to redeem themselves and I’m in that. I’ll make sure that is not accepted, you can be assured of that.

“We had been working hard to find a level of performance and I thought we had found it but we’ve come right off it against Hearts.

“I can accept the Aberdeen result. I don’t like it when we lose but we deserved something from the game because the performance was good and the applications levels were high. But Tuesday was not good enough.

“They should be hurting because I’m hurting. It won’t be tolerated and we’ll deal with it.”

McCann also slated Hearts’ Cole Stockton for the challenge that forced Jack Hendry off at half-time with double vision and is set to rule him out the Jags clash.

He added: “Jack got a cheap shot at the back post, it was a nasty one and the type of thing that can break his collarbone.”
