FORMER Spice Girl Mel B is being forced to pay out more than half a million pounds to the ex-husband she accuses of abusing her.

Court documents show the star’s divorce agreement gives Stephen Belafonte £11,160 a month for three years – a total of £400,000.

And Mel, 42, who told a judge this year she had blown the £38million she earned with the Spice Girls, also has to pay Belafonte’s £150,000 legal bill – due five days before Christmas.

A source close to Mel said yesterday: “Handing over money to the man she alleges drove her to try to take her own life is quite incredible but she just wants it all behind her.

“She cannot wait to be with her mum and sister at Christmas. They have not spent the holidays with her properly since she married 10 years ago. Mel has vowed 2018 is a fresh start.”

The details of the settlement emerged as fatherof-two Belafonte, 43, accused Mel of breaking the agreement.

The couple agreed to split the proceeds from the sale of their properties but he says Mel is preventing him from selling their Los Angeles home by denying him access to it.

He also accused her of blocking him from seeing their daughter Madison, six.

Belafonte now wants the courts to enforce the divorce deal, which also includes provisions for sex tapes of the couple to be destroyed.

When Mel, now a judge on America’s Got Talent, filed for divorce in March, she claimed Belafonte, who has a record for domestic violence, beat and sexually abused her from the start of their marriage.
