THE INTERVIEWS: BRUCE FORSYTH YESTERDAY, 10pm SIR Bruce Forsyth, who died in August aged 89, had an incredible career lasting over 70 years. He was the master of audience participation, with a wonderful knack of getting the most out of contestants.

From his big break on Sunday Night At The London Palladium in the 1950s to becoming the undisputed king of Saturday night television, hosting Strictly Come Dancing, this show uses archive interviews to tell the story of his extraordinary career.

THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES

DRAMA, 8pm A MAN is found floating in a swimming pool with a samurai sword stuck in his back. Surely this wins the award for the most bizarre Brokenwood mystery – well of the week at least?

DI Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea) and DC Kristin Simms (Fern Sutherland) investigate the elderly residents of a care home, all of whom could have had a motive for murder.

It turns out the victim had conned many of them out of their life savings.

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

YESTERDAY, 9pm GEORDIE comedian Sarah Millican is astonished to discover that her threetimes great grandfather was one of the first ever divers in the world.

She also follows the trail of her four-times great grandfather, John Malcolm, to Canada where he worked for the Hudson’s Bay Company and was sent to a remote outpost involved in the fur trade.

As Sarah follows in his footsteps, she makes a truly shocking discovery and is moved to tears.

WOULD I LIE TO YOU?

DAVE, 9pm ANOTHER stream of lies and truths, encouraged by host Rob Brydon.

Joining team captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack are Germaine Greer, Jermaine Jenas, Richard Osman and Alan Davies.

Find out whether Richard really did share a jacuzzi with three of the Eggheads at a party. And perhaps more worryingly, whether Germain eyes up fellow train travellers to decide who she would eat first if they were stranded on a desert island.
