Daughter’s friend tells of hotel room shock
ACTOR Dustin Hoffman exposed himself to a 16-year-old friend of his daughter, it was claimed yesterday.
Cori Thomas, now a playwright, said it happened in a New York hotel room after she had dinner with Hoffman, then in his early 40s, and his daughter.
After his daughter had left, Cori said, he invited her to wait in his room for her mother to collect her and went to have a shower.
But when he emerged, he dropped his towel, requested a foot massage and asked her repeatedly if she wanted to see him naked again.
Cori said yesterday she had come forward because of attacks on the credibility of Anna Graham Hunter, who accused Hoffman of groping her when she was 17 and a film set intern.
She added: “I recognised Ms Hunter’s story as the truth immediately, because of the similarities to what happened to me.”
Cori said she had told friends and family of the incident many years ago but had chosen not to go public with it.
She said: “I regret that. I realise now that the reason this continued to happen to others was because of my silence.”
Cori told her story in the showbiz publication Variety, which also carried another woman’s account of alleged harassment by the 80-yearold Oscar winner.
Melissa Kester said the actor pushed his hand down her pants while they were in a recording studio.
The incident allegedly happened while Hoffman was recording music for the 1987 film Ishtar.
Hoffman’s publicist and lawyer did not respond to requests for comment.
