KEILLOR-DUNN CAN BE THE 1

-

FORMER Ross County hero Liam Boyce has tipped young Staggies star Davis Keillor-Dunn to be the next big thing in Scottish football.

Keillor Dunn, 20, has earned rave reviews for his performances this season after stepping up to the first team under Owen Coyle, having previously excelled when County’s Under-20s side won the Development League last term.

The midfielder impressed Coyle so much that the Ross County boss handed him a new twoyear contract in October.

Whether he sees it out is a big question with Boyce believing the English kid has the ability to go far in the game.

Boyce was the top scorer in the Premiership last season.

That form earned the Northern Ireland international a move to English Championship side Burton Albion.

He has yet to play in a competitive fixture for his new club after suffering a serious knee injury in pre-season.

On his way back to fitness, Boyce has used some of his down time to keep in touch with his old team and has been hugely impressed by the qualities of Keillor-Dunn.

Boyce, who scored 23 league goals for the Staggies last term, said: “Davis has been looking brilliant this season.

“When I was there he was coming through the ranks and won the reserve league. He was one of the best players in achieving that.

“Even at that stage there was talk of him not staying because others were looking at him.

“Everyone in the first team knew he was a quality player. He seems to walk past opposition players at times.

“Davis has a real chance of progressing. It wouldn’t be a surprise if other clubs in Scotland or elsewhere are looking at him but at the moment he is an important player for Ross County.”
