- Claims about what you’re going to do

performances. The main thing is we’ve been managing to win.

“We can do much better than we did at HIbs. I haven’t watched the game back but playing in it I felt we were miles off it in terms of what we want to do as a team.

“However, we were able to dig the result out and that was probably something people have held against us. They’ve said when the going gets tough, we go under. But we’ve shown in the last few games we are capable of digging those results out.

“My words at half-time against Hibs were to the effect we played well below the standards required. After the game everyone was delighted with the result and with having shown resilience at a tough venue.

“Hibs players can say whatever they like. There have been times this season we’ve battered teams and never won. Sometimes you’re better being lucky than good. But my preference would be we play a lot better than we did.

“We were happy with the points but can do much better.”

Rangers have won seven from nine on the road this season but been victorious only four times at a home that was once a fortress.

Wilson, who rode to the rescue last week with the winner against Ross County, added: “We’ve been trying to find consistency and it can all change with a bad result.

“So we go into the Saints game full of confidence but knowing it will be tough.

“If we want to achieve anything this season we must fix our form at Ibrox because it hasn’t been good enough. If we had taken more points at home we would have been closer to first.”
