Tee-riffic spot to live if you can fork out £2.2m for a home TOP 20 STREETS

A STREET that’s less than a short iron shot away from the Old Course has been named the most expensive in Scotland.

Golf Place in St Andrews, which boasts magnificen­t views over the Royal & Ancient clubhouse and West Sands beach, has an average house price of £2.179million.

Although the Fife town comes out on top, streets in Edinburgh dominate the top 20 list, compiled by Bank of Scotland property experts.

The capital has 10 of the prime addresses, followed by five in Glasgow and four in Aberdeen.

Edinburgh’s most expensive residentia­l street is Ettrick Road, Merchiston, with an average house price of £1.899million.

In Glasgow, Capelrig Lane, which is in Newton Mearns and is made up of seven Golf Place, St Andrews – Ettrick Road, Edinburgh – Capelrig Lane, Glasgow – Regent Terrace, Edinburgh – Heriot Row, Edinburgh – Ann Street, Edinburgh – Deeview Road South, Aberdeen Rubislaw Den – South, Aberdeen – Northumber­land Street, Edinburgh – Friarsfiel­d Way, Aberdeen – Cumin Place, Edinburgh – Manse Road, Glasgow – North Deeside Road, Aberdeen – Lauder Road, Edinburgh – Wester Coates Edinburgh – Gardens, Baroness Drive, Drummond Glasgow – Place, Edinburgh – Baron Court, Glasgow – Tipperlinn Road, Edinburgh Frederick – Boulevard, Glasgow – individual­ly designed properties, boasts an average price tag of £1.55million.

Deeview Road South in Cults is the highest-placed street in Aberdeen, a nose ahead of Rubislaw Den South in the city’s west end.

Milltimber, six miles west of Aberdeen and close to top-performing Cults Academy, is the next place outside the top three cities to make the list – at No25.

Across Scotland, there are 93 streets with an average price tag of more than £750,000.

Bank of Scotland mortgage director Graham Blair said: “No location in Scotland is on a par with St Andrews when it comes to the nation’s most desirable addresses.”
