We won’t have a Grim future when Louis leaves Well

MOTHERWELL v DUNDEE

LIAM GRIMSHAW insists Motherwell must man up and prove there is life after the imminent loss of Louis Moult.

The Fir Park midfielder believes the loss of their Preston-bound talisman, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury, would hurt any side on the planet.

But as Well look to end a fourgame losing streak against Dundee today, Grimshaw is convinced his team-mate’s absence is a time to show Moult is not the sum of all parts.

He said: “We’re certainly not a one-man team and it’s up to the boys still here to show that.

“Listen, at the end of the day any team in the world would miss Louis Moult. It’s a massive miss to have someone like that taken out of your team. He scores goals.

“It’s obviously taken us time to adjust to the fact he won’t be here moving forward but it gives other lads the chance to step up to the plate. There’s an opportunity now they might not have had previously.

“The club are looking to bring someone else in and that’s up to the manager. The boys who are here just now need to push on.

“When any team in the world loses their main striker, someone who has scored the amount of goals that Louis has, then it’s going to affect them. As a group we have to get on with it. The midfield need to pitch in too.”

As a former Preston player, Grimshaw is well aware of what lies in store for Moult at the Championship club and the 22-year-old is convinced his fellow Englishman can use the move to further climb the ladder.

He said: “I know the club well and I’ve spoken to Louis about his move. Preston is ideal for him. It’s not a massive club
