George lover’s bloody anniversary tribute
Boyfriend Fadi Fawaz posts haunting shot of his face melded with late Wham! star
GEORGE Michael’s griefstricken boyfriend yesterday paid an emotional tribute to the late singer on the first anniversary of his death.
As fans left flowers and cards outside the house where George, 53, died, Fadi Fawaz, 44, posted a photo on Instagram melding half of his face with half of George’s.
In the post, titled It is what it is, Fadi’s side of the face weeps a teardrop of blood.
A poem on George’s half reads: “I will always miss you until the day I meet you. In your sleep I find you, Into your dreams I follow you.
“My story remains untold, your love they don’t know. My love stays home, blame and I alone. All I need you to know, you were not alone. It’s you I adore.”
Fadi, who has reportedly fallen out with some members of George’s family, has been criticised for his behaviour since he found the singer dead in bed at home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.
An inquest found the former Wham! star died of natural causes as a result of dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver.
Photographer Fadi, who is spending Christmas with friends in the country, vowed he’d never love again as the first anniversary of George’s death approached.
He said: “I can’t stand all the Christmas trees or lights around London. It makes me so sad, I just want it over and done with.”
George’s family said Christmas will be hard without him but added: “We know that we are not alone.”
