Forr-get the cup–league win is a priority

-

WILLIE DYER is having sleepless nights at the prospect of facing Celtic star James Forrest – but insists he’s still more worried about helping Brechin break their Championship duck.

The defender will have the task of trying to tame on-form Forrest when the Angus minnows head to Parkhead next month for their Scottish Cup clash. But Dyer is putting all thoughts of tackling the Hoops flying machine on hold as Darren Dods’s bottom-dogs aim to pull off their first league win when Inverness visit today.

He said: “It’s quite a thought going up against someone like Forrest. He’s the best player in the country at the moment.

“It does play on your mind but it’s more about immediate stuff for us. We could really do with that first win to get the monkey off our backs.

“We’ve been unlucky on certain occasions. Now we have to try to change things and hopefully can do that against Inverness.”

Meanwhile Iain Vigurs hopes John Robertson recruits a goalscorer in January to help Inverness close in on a play-off position.

The Caley Thistle midfielder said: “We’ve been doing well and keeping clean sheets, bar last week against Morton.

“But we haven’t scored a lot and that’s where we can maybe get some help in January – but I think everyone’s looking for a goalscorer.”
