STAY FOR MORE JOY

SCOTT’S SHINING EXAMPLE Jacko: I’ll be quids in if I net at Parkhead

- It shows character that we all want to push each other as hard as we can

From Back Page interested in a £20million swoop and while Dembele will leave at some point, McGregor is not convinced it will be this month.

The 21-year-old is training as normal on the trip to Dubai and Scotland star McGregor claims the lure of more success with Celts means no one is itching to get away.

He said: “It comes to the point where you are part of a successful team and that’s what you want it to stay like.

“A lot of players will never win anything in their careers and you have a massive chance at Celtic to win a lot of trophies.

“That’s obviously going to be a big draw for players like him (Dembele).

“It’s about him wanting to be here to kick on, work hard and be part of this group. All the boys love him and want him to stay.

“I don’t think he’ll be thinking of going anywhere.

“In the main everyone is focused on being here and I don’t think they are thinking about getting away.

“We’re all good lads who want to do well and work hard for each other. That’s important.

“You think back to the Aberdeen game up there where Moussa was unplayable. He looked like a real top player.

“If we can get him playing like that every week it’s great for the group going forward and to win things.

“Last season was so special it brought the boys even closer together.

“If we can kick on then we could potentially do it again.

“It’s a special place to be and I think all the boys recognise that.”

There is also interest in Kieran Tierney, Jozo ANDY JACKSON is desperate to score against Celtic – and earn a bonus from his Rangers-daft bricklaying boss.

The Brechin striker, who works as a brickie, can’t wait to take on the champs in the Scottish Cup clash at Parkhead on January 20.

Jackson said: “My boss is a big Rangers fan and has promised me a bonus if I can score against Celtic .

“We’re having loads of banter on the building site Simunovic and Stuart Armstrong from south of the border.

But no Scottish team in history has won back-toback trebles so McGregor wants the squad to stay intact and keep making magical memories.

He said: “We’ve just got to keep setting markers.

“I think back to how big an achievement it was winning the Treble last year.

“If we could do it again that would be something really special.

“But we can only look at the next game when we’re back. The way we got success last season was by preparing properly for every game and taking them as they come.

“We definitely have more to achieve as a group. That’s the key here and how the manager wants to work.

“He’s always striving to be better. Even if we win 3-0 he wants us to win by four or five.”

Brendan Rodgers has added to his squad by bringing in German defender Marvin Compper.

And the former Leipzig star was put through his first training session in Dubai yesterday.

Compper, 32, said: “I couldn’t wait to get going.

“The boys are fantastic and it’s an easy bunch to join in with.” but he’s deadly serious about this offer. So I’m holding him to his word and hopefully I’ll have him digging that bit deeper.”

Jackson has been plagued by injury this season and after making his first start in five months at the weekend he said: “It has been a tough few months.

“But it’s all behind me and when you have a tie like Celtic to look forward to there’s an extra spring in your step.”
