Floating wind farm ideas
A STUDY is to look at whether building more floating wind farms could boost the Scottish economy.
The world’s first floating wind farm, located around 15 miles offshore from Peterhead, started to supply electricity to the grid in October.
Norwegian state energy firm Statoil developed the project but the £50,000 study will examine how Scottish firms could benefit from the burgeoning technology.
It will look at different scales of wind farm development.
