A GEORGE Michael lookalike made a pilgrimage from Scotland to his idol’s former home to mark the first anniversary of his death.

Brendan Carr, 50, travelled to Goring-on-Thames in Oxfordshire to pay tribute to the superstar, who was found dead at his home on Christmas Day 2016.

He joined fans from around the world to lay flowers at the singer’s front door along with a card promising to keep his memory and music alive.

Brendan – who performs as George in a tribute act called I’m Your Man – said: “Like many other people, I was having Christmas with my family in 2016 when I received a message asking if I’d heard the news of George’s death. My reaction was one of total shock.” Operations manager Brendan, from Bellside, near Motherwell, said of his trip: “When I got there, it really hit me. I did not realise how emotional an experience it would be to be among the tributes and the flags.

“The love that was out there for the guy and still exists is amazing.”
