Government to set out targets for apprenticeships
THE SCOTTISH Government are due to set out their apprenticeships target for 2018/19.
Ministers are working towards delivering 30,000 new modern apprenticeship opportunities each year by 2020.
A target of 27,000 was set for 2017/18, after the previous year’s goal of 26,000 places was exceeded.
Employability Minister Jamie Hepburn will set out the 2018/19 headline figure during a Holyrood debate on developing a young workforce, and will also unveil details of changes to the rural supplement – introduced in 2017/18 to ensure employers and apprentices in rural areas are not disadvantaged.
