Jose: My dreads are Quitongone
FOOTBALLER GETS CHOP TO HELP LAYLA, 3
FORMER football star Jose Quitongo has cut off his trademark dreadlocks to raise cash for a cancer-stricken tot.
The former Hearts, Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Hamilton Accies player got the chop after being moved by the plight of Layla Greene, three, who has stage 4 neuroblastoma.
The cash raised by the dad of three, from Hamilton, will go to help Layla’s family create some special memories with her.
Jose said: “I decided to cut my dreadlocks after 20 years to help raise funds for Layla. Doctors have told her family to start compiling a memory list and make their memories with and for her.
“It’s a bit strange now my dreadlocks are gone, but I’m really glad I did it as it’s for a fantastic family.”
Jose’s hair-raising gesture has so far raised £845 for the family but more donations can be received at www. gofundme.com/jose-shaving-his-head-for-layla
