Gaffer’s faith has me reborn at Bairns

-

LOUIS LONGRIDGE is reaping the rewards at Falkirk now he has found a manager who is showing faith in his talent.

The Bairns striker made his loan move from Hamilton permanent this month and is hoping to shoot Falkirk into the play-off zone.

He has netted four goals in his last four games, including a double in the 6-1 rout of title contenders Dundee United. Longridge said: “I probably went into games for Hamilton believing I had to score to keep my place in the team.

“At Falkirk the manager has given me more leeway to express myself knowing I’ll have my spot next week because he feels I’m an important part of his side. Paul Hartley trusts me and believes in my ability. I’m not saying Marting Canning didn’t but I felt there was always added pressure at Accies.

“I didn’t score in my first couple of games for Falkirk but the gaffer stuck with me. Now my confidence is high and everything is clicking.”

Morton are two points off a play-off spot and skipper Thomas O’Ware wants to make amends for last weekend’s 1-1 draw at basement boys Brechin.

He said: “It was frustrating. We lost an early goal and were sloppy. We battered them for 70 minutes but nothing happened for us.

“Still, if we win our game in hand we go fourth so it’s not bad considering the frustrations.”
