DARREN KERR is praying Dalbeattie Star’s player shortage eases.

Last week he was forced to go into the clash against champions East Kilbride with a skeleton squad after losing three players through a warm-up injury and flu.

Star, third from bottom, have a short trip to face Edusport at Galabank.

And Kerr, unable to bring in any loan players yet, said: “I hope the fans cut us a bit of slack and realise we’re short of numbers but trying to do things right.

“The boys are putting in an honest performance but we’ve come up short again.

“We’ve got to put points on the board. We’re struggling to get players in and looking for players on loan.”
