“I’m not sure I would be as cool as a cucumber if I had to hit a penalty in the last minute against Celtic with the game goalless but I still know I’d slot it away.”
Dale is keen to take his natural confidence on the park into a successful business career off it.
He arrived in Scotland five years ago to take up a football scholarship at Stirling University and graduated with an honours degree in business, including entrepreneurial studies.
He first caught the attention of Brechin boss Darren Dods when he was on trial at Falkirk and although boss Steven Pressley didn’t offer him a deal he made an impression on the former Dundee United star.
Dale is preparing to launch his own business with close pal Stuart Malcolm, assistant boss at Albion Rovers, called “Bul-key” – and he might just impress potential clients with the Hoops.
He said: “It’s a bespoke car key business, made of luxury metals such as platinum, gold and silver. It’s aimed at high net worth individuals such as Premier League stars who drive top of the range cars.
“It’s completely niche. Stuart and I spoke about it often when we travelled together to play with Forfar and we believe it’s an idea with great business potential. “It’s something many of the Celtic players could afford but I won’t be running around the pitch at Parkhead touting for business. “I’m focused on only one task at Celtic Park – getting a result for Brechin.”
