POLICE are investigating after a pupil aged 14 was stabbed yesterday outside the gates of his high school.

The attack happened in morning break and last night three teenage boys were arrested in connection with the incident.

WORRIED parents pulled their children out of classes after a boy was stabbed outside a school yesterday.

The 14-year-old was attacked at the gates of All Saints Secondary School in Barmulloch, Glasgow, during a morning break.

Paramedics and police were called to the school on Ryehill Road at 11.35am and the injured boy was taken to the city’s Royal Hospital for Children.

Police could not confirm how serious his injuries are but it’s thought he suffered a stomach wound.

Last night police arrested three teenage boys — two aged 16 and one 17-year-old — in connection with the attack.

They are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

A pupil’s dad who arrived at the school just before lunch yesterday said: “I heard it on the news and came straight down.

“I’m taking him home. It’s very concerning.”

John Sutherland, 68, who lives across the road, said: “One of the mums told me they think whoever had done it has run away.

“I think a few of the parents are pulling their kids out of school.”

Another local resident said: “A wee boy from the school came out and was pointing things out to the police. He must have witnessed it.”

Chief Inspector Stevie Hazlett reassured parents that no other pupils were at threat.

He said: “We understand that this type of incident is very concerning to parents, and indeed people in the local community.

“However, I’d like to reassure them that detectives working on the case are following a definite line of inquiry.

“This was an isolated incident and one which was targeted and not random.

“There will be additional officers around the vicinity of Ryehill Road and we’d ask anyone who has any concerns to contact those officers for any additional reassurance or guidance.”

Parents told on social media how they got text messages from the school to alert them to the incident.

But Glasgow City Council said the running of the school was unaffected and children were allowed to leave as normal at lunchtime.

A spokeswoman added: “The school are working with police .”
