Publishers Oneworld agreed and the pair’s first book, Weird Maths, is out next month.
David said: “We wanted to make it readable to a non-mathematician.”
The first draft impressed and terrified the publishers in equal proportions.
David added: “The editor liked it. Then he showed it to the salespeople and they went blank.”
He convinced Agnijo that they needed fewer equations and a little more chat. Version two delighted Oneworld so much that a sequel, Weirder Maths, is nearly finished. Volume three, Weirdest Maths, may be next.
David said: “We are running out of time to call Agnijo a schoolboy genius.
“We could just about squeeze one more book in before he goes to Cambridge in the autumn.
