Teenage hostess tells of indecent proposal

A TEENAGER claims she was offered £75,000 for sex by an elderly reveller at the notorious Presidents Club dinner.

The 19-year-old hostess said the man was old enough to be her grandfather and told her: “I like that you’re young.”

She also claimed she was repeatedly groped in a series of vile and sleazy encounters.

Pressure is growing for police to investigate claims of abuse and harassment at the men-only charity fundraiser – billed as “the most un-PC event of the year”.

In a letter to Met Commissioner Cressida Dick, Lib Dem leader Vince Cable highlighted public outrage over reports of “wealthy and powerful men groping, intimidating and abusing women working at a charity dinner”.

Dozens of young women were employed as hostesses at the event at London’s Dorchester Hotel and ordered to wear skimpy outfits.

The teenager, a student who said she was working for the “first and last” time as a hostess, said: “An old man in his 70s beckoned me over and said, ‘I will offer you £50,000 for sex.’

“When I said I no, he said, ‘OK then, £75,000.’ He could not get it into his head I couldn’t be bought. He assumed I was a prostitute.

“I told him my age and he said, ‘My youngest daughter’s older than you – I like that you’re young.’

“One man made me sit next to him and tried to spoon-feed me a dessert. It was the creepiest thing.

“In the after-party all the men were groping the girls.”

One party-goer last night rejected suggestions that the event was a “Roman orgy”, adding: “That’s miles away from being the truth.”

But the businessman added: “I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few guys who behaved in a handsy way or made inappropriate innuendos to girls.”

Meanwhile, Tory children’s minister Nadhim Zahawi faced fresh pressure to quit yesterday over his attendance at the event.

Tory Maria Miller, who heads the Commons’ women’s and equalities committee, said: “No minister should be going to an event where women are only there as the entertainment. There are questions about why Nadhim had accepted this invitation.”
