LEAGUE TWO

MONTROSE manager Stewart Petrie is demanding his table-toppers bounce back right away from their shock home defeat to Clyde.

The Links Park side were stunned 3-1 last weekend by a Bully Wee side who had been on a wretched run.

And Petrie wants his players to return to the form that has got them to the League Two summit.

He said: “Only three out of 11 players got pass marks against Clyde. When you have eight guys not playing at a high level in a league as competitive this one you’re going to struggle.

“We didn’t play well and there’s no point in trying to dress things up. We conceded the first goal in a horrible fashion and when you go behind in this league it’s difficult to come back.

“We’ve talked about the game but we’re not going to dwell on it. We will now roll our sleeves up and be ready for Stirling.”

Albion boss Dave Mackay wants to end two weeks of frustration by securing a win at Links Park for a second time this season.

He said: “We’ve been looking to get playing again ever since we lost 4-3 to Peterhead in our last game.

“After making a strong start to the season we’ve slipped back and we need to get back in among things in the top four.

“We had a terrific 3-1 win at Montrose back in September and a repeat of that performance would be terrific.”
