STEFAN SCOUGALL insists St Johnstone have the strength in depth to cope if their fixture logjam gets “crazy”.
Two postponements of the Scottish Cup clash with Albion Rovers have already wiped out planned Premiership matches with Kilmarnock and Hamilton.
And if Monday’s fourth-round tie against the League One minnows goes to a replay it will lead to more upheaval.
As Scougall geared up for today’s Premiership showdown with Partick he said: “We could have a really hectic schedule. Hopefully the Cup game goes ahead and doesn’t go to a replay.
“If it does it would defeat the purpose of a winter break because it would mean playing Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday and then Saturday again.
“That would be a crazy schedule but we have a good squad and we would just have to cope with it.
“It feels like forever since we last had a game.”
After recovering from a stomach bug Scougall is hoping McDiarmid Park boss Tommy Wright hands him the playmaker role he was relishing before the winter shutdown.
The former Livingston and Sheffield United star said: “Playing centrally is my best position and that’s where you will get the best out of me.
“When I first went to England under Nigel Clough that’s where I played my best football.”
