VENTURE’S CAPITAL

- GARRY OWEN racing@dailyrecord.co.uk

ANOTHER VENTURE (3.40) can score for in-form handler Kim Bailey on a cracking card at Hereford.

The seven-year-old showed a willing attitude to beat the useful Souriyan at Chepstow last time and remains on a good mark in a weaker-looking contest.

Cash in on the promising TOSSAPENNY (1.40) in the opening maiden hurdle.

Evan Williams’s gelding caught the eye when just denied by Super Sid on his timber debut at Southwell and can go one better with normal improvement.

Meanwhile TOWN PARKS (3.10) can claim a trappy handicap chase for Kerry Lee.

The seven-year-old relished the return to 2m 4f when landing a strong novices’ contest at Uttoxeter and remains unexposed over fences.

GOOD MAN HUGHIE (2.25) can enhance trainer Gary Moore’s cracking record at Plumpton.

Fair over hurdles, the gelding faced a hopeless task in a hot course and distance contest on his chasing bow and should come on plenty for the experience.

Moore can double up in the At The Races Handicap Chase with LEO LUNA (3.55). The nine-year-old was a good fourth in the Sussex National here last time and can return to winning ways down in trip and grade.

Nick Mitchell’s JULLY LES BUXY (3.25) looks a value bet in the conditionals’ hurdle.

The mare landed a competitive contest in decent style at today’s venue and can build on that effort on the soft ground.

Chris Gordon also likes a winner at Plumpton and can strike with BE DARING (4.25).

The grey produced a personal best over hurdles when just held at Fontwell last time and remains fairly treated thanks to Harry Reed’s 7lb claim.

DELLAGUISTA (6.30) can continue her excellent run of form on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. Tim Easterby’s filly was unlucky not to complete a four-timer here last time but can resume winning ways in her current mood.

■ Definitly Red is thriving after landing Saturday’s Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham. Brian Ellison is confident the nine-year-old is a serious contender for Gold Cup glory back at the venue in March.

The gelding could also head to the Grand National at Aintree if all is well after the Festival.

■ Top-class mare Vroom Vroom Mag is likely to be retired by owner Rich Ricci having not run since finishing unplaced at Punchestown last April.
