Brave cancer girl Nicole: I’ve set my sights on a bucket list
Battling Scot wants to see the world’s beauty spots as she fights killer disease
A BRAVE young woman with just months to live has started a bucket list of world travel.
Civil servant Nicole Pryce, 21, was given the shock diagnosis of terminal bone cancer last year.
And she now hopes to make the most of her remaining time by travelling and raising cash for cancer charities.
Nicole’s biggest dream is to visit the stunning island of Bali and its volcanic mountains, rice paddies, beaches and coral reefs.
Her pals have organised a charity night to raise cash for her travels and funds for her favourite cause – the Beatson cancer charity.
In an online post, Nicole, from Blantyre, Lanarkshire, wrote: “I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma last year. Unfortunately, the prognosis isn’t good and at 21, it’s not the most ideal situation to be in and unimaginable until it actually happens to you.
“I still intend to tackle this head on and make the most of every single minute with the biggest smile, as much positivity as possible and with one or two inappropriate jokes thrown in there too.
“With this event, it would help me see as much of this beautiful world as I can while also raising money for the Beatson – a charity I hold close to my heart.”
Nicole’s colleague Nicki McCann, 39, said: “Nicole loves to travel and her big dream is to go to Bali. Hopefully we can raise cash to help her do what she wants to do.
“She is in constant pain but she is so positive and has a really upbeat outlook. We just want to get the word out about this event so we can to enable her to fulfil her dreams.”
The organisers are looking for raffle prizes, catering and any other help with the event on Friday, March 2, at New Douglas Park, Hamilton.
A crowdfunding page has been set up for Nicole and has already surpassed its fundraising target of £2000.
