Keep on winning or Rocks will drop

-

UPDATE

TONY GARBELOTTO admitted he was left frustrated despite seeing his Glasgow Rocks side move up to second in the BBL with an 86-63 thumping of Plymouth Raiders.

After losing 80-76 at Bristol 24 hours earlier, the Scots bounced back, led by Kieron Achara’s 22 points.

But coach Garbelotto, who is hoping to strength his squad this week, said: “We’ve had three double-headers on the road this season and in all of them we’ve had a win and a bad loss.

“That’s not championshiplevel form. It won’t keep us second if we keep dropping games.” JUDO: Sally Conway celebrated the biggest win of her career, winning the Paris Grand Slam, the first British woman to strike gold in the event for 21 years.

The Olympic medallist, who won bronze in the event two years ago, took the Under-70kg title by beating world No.1 Chizuru Arai in the final.

Conway said: “I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet. I’ve just come off the podium and listened to the national anthem in this amazing stadium and it was just the best feeling ever.” TENNiS: Liam Broady secured a 6-4 7-6 (9/7) straight-sets victory over Great Britain Davis Cup team-mate Cameron Norrie to book his place in the second qualification round for the New York Open.

● Bosnian qualifier Mirza Basic beat big-serving Romanian Marius Copil 7-6(6) 6-7(4) 6-4 in the final of the Sofia Open to claim his first tour title. He also saw off top seed Stan Wawrinka and Philipp Kohlschreiber on the way to the biggest victory of his career. TRiAThLON: Grant Sheldon began his season with ninth place at the World Cup leg in Cape Town.

The 23-year-old Scot pulled out a surge on the run stage to finish less than two minutes behind Glasgow 2014 bronze medallist Richard Murray, who pulled away from South African compatriot Henri Schoeman.
