DOUGIE FIFE has opened his heart over his misery at Edinburgh under ex-boss Alan Solomons.
And the Scotland paceman heaped praise on new coach Richard Cockerill for reviving his career – and the club.
Fife, preparing for tomorrow’s crucial Pro14 clash with Ulster, claimed playing for the Gunners had been “boring” with South African Solomons at the helm. He said: “I wasn’t enjoying my rugby at that time.
“The way we were playing was really quite boring for a winger, and it was getting me down not winning many games.
“Some people just don’t fit in a particular coach’s mould and Solly just lost interest in me.”

sparked back to life during a successful spell with the Scotland sevens.
Then after the departure of Solomons and arrival of Cockerill, he was summoned back to the Gunners and hasn’t looked back.
He said: “Richard is a great coach. The set-up feels more professional – everything’s improved.”
Meanwhile, Edinburgh have sealed new deals with back-three stars Blair Kinghorn, Damien Hoyland and Duhan van der Merwe.
