HIBS v ABERDEEN COUNTDOWN TO Lenny’s men eye revenge in bid to close gap on Dons

NEIL LENNON reckons Hibs may have a score to settle with Aberdeen tomorrow.

The Northern Irishman lambasted his players for a dismal performance in the Granite City in December when the Edinburgh men were hammered 4-1.

Lennon branded his players mentally weak and reckoned even Cowdenbeath would have beaten them on that occasion – before later admitting he’d been too critical.

The Edinburgh side can reduce the gap on their second-placed opponents to just five points with a home win.

And the Easter Road boss is adamant there will be no hangover from the pre-festive horror show as Hibs bid to redress the balance.

Lennon said: “There was fatigue in that December game but you have to give Aberdeen credit as that was the best performance by any side against us this season.

“I wouldn’t say it was a lesson but we were convincingly beaten.

“It is not lingering but we may want to put that right and there will be an incentive as Aberdeen have beaten us in the last three times we have played.

“The context of this game is we can close the gap on second or third or Aberdeen can extend the gap over us.

“It is going to be a tough game but one we are relishing and it is good to have them at home.

“Aberdeen are a different animal. They are strong and athletic all
