Cops desperate to catch flasher

E-fit of pervert bears a stunning resemblance to lantern-jawed character

-

A POLICE e-fit of a suspected flasher is a dead ringer for cartoon hero Desperate Dan. Police issued an appeal yesterday featuring an image of a man “they would like to speak to” as part of an ongoing investigation. The appeal follows an indecency offence which took place on Park Avenue, Dundee, at about 1pm on December 16 last year. The man is described as white, in his mid 30s, 5ft 9in, of average build with dark thick curly hair and he was wearing a dark coloured jersey top and dark trousers. And police have urged “anyone who recognises the image or has any information regarding the incident” to contact them.

But members of the public have pointed out the individual bears a striking resemblance to the lanternjawed Dandy favourite.

Below the online appeal, one Facebook user wrote: “Desperate Dan?”

Another added: “Awful cartoony picture!”

Another said: “Looks like desperate Dan without his hat.”

The force’s Tayside division said: “Police Scotland are releasing an e-fit image of a man they would like to speak to as part of an ongoing investigation.

“Officers have issued an image of a man they believe may be able to assist them in their inquiries and are appealing for any information.

“Anyone who recognises the image or has any information regarding the incident is asked to contact officers via 101 and quote CR/032638/17.

“Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.”
