LIAM Gallagher is no stranger to controversy – after all, his rock ’n’ roll hellraising and supernova spats with big brother Noel are nothing short of legendary.

Twice divorced, former Oasis singer Liam, 45, has four children – one from each marriage and one from each affair that ended those marriages.

But this week, it’s not Liam at the centre of a scandal but his ex-wife Nicole Appleton, 43, whose flirting with Paddy McGuinness saw him booted out of the family home by his wife Christine Martin.

The All Saints star and the TV presenter were pictured arm in arm on a boozy night out last week, before it emerged that Nicole had liked more than 172 of Paddy’s Instagram photos.

But for loved-up Liam, who split with Nicole in 2013 after having a child with American Liza Ghorbani, it’s the type of drama he no longer has time for.

Of Nicole and Paddy, he said: “She does what she does, and he does what he f***ing does. It is what it is.

“Let them two get on with it – or them three get on with it.

“I’ve had my own sh**, you know what I mean? So I wouldn’t wish any of that sh** on anyone.

“I’m keeping my nose clean these days. I just do what I’m here to do and that’s sing songs and look cool.”

The reason for Liam’s monogamous outlook on love is his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther, 35, the personal assistant-turned-manager he fell for in 2014.

He credits her with picking him up after his marriage of five years ended, and is now completely devoted.

It’s a huge change, especially from his first marriage to actress Patsy Kensit, 49, which ended after three years in 2000, when an affair with singer Lisa Moorish led to daughter Molly, now 19. But today’s Liam is a different man.

He said: “If you’re going to be with someone, be with someone. Me and Debbie pretty much spend every day together.

“If I’m with someone, I need to be with them all the time. I love my missus.

“She’s the world to me, she’s salt of the earth.” So could Debbie become wife No3? “No. I’ve been married twice,

mate,” he said. “I’m a big believer in if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Debbie is close to his sons Gene, 16, (with Nicole) and Lennon, 18, (with Patsy). But his daughters are a different matter. Despite supporting them financially, he has not met Molly or Gemma, his child by journalist Liza in New York. Liam said of Molly: “I’ve never got around to meeting her. I’ve heard she’s all right, though, she’s doing all right. “I never heard anything that she wanted to meet me. Not met the one in New York either. I wish them well.” The strained relationship Liam is world famous for is the one with his brother and fellow Oasis star Noel. He joked: “The last time I actually had a proper conversation with him was in 1998. “After then, we used to just have barneys because his head got too big for his boots and he thought he was f***ing Eric Clapton. He went one way and I stayed on the righteous path.”

Their latest spat came when Noel couldn’t do last year’s One Love gig in the wake of the Manchester terror attack because he was abroad, leaving Liam to duet with Coldplay’s Chris Martin and lash out on Twitter.

So, how did their mum Peggy handle their toxic fallout?

He said: “She knows my version of events and I think she believes me.

“Noel sort of sold everyone down the river through his new cosmic pop career, including his f***ing brother.

“She’s got my back and I’m sure she’s got his back every now and again.”

Liam’s currently a solo artist, having split with his band Beady Eye. He referred to it as his “last roll of the dice”, but his debut album As You Were has gone platinum here and is doing well in the US.

Liam will be touring this year, and bagged the Godlike Genius gong at the NME Awards on Wednesday, which is only slightly tainted by the fact Noel got it in 2012.

“I think it’s long overdue,” he said, laughing.

“When they were giving it out to Noel, I should have got one as well. I know it was him that wrote the songs in Oasis but I certainly didn’t half-a**e sing them, I did them proper.”

For all the fighting, Liam would still like to see an Oasis reunion, because he hates how they split after a fight in Paris in 2009.

He said: “It’s all in his [Noel’s] hands. I would love nothing more than getting out there, playing those songs. I think we’ve got unfinished business.

“I’m disgusted at the way we split up. A little argument in Paris was too limp. At least one of us should’ve had a f***ing arm chopped off or eye poked out.

“But first he needs to come down a peg or two – realise that he’s good writing the songs and he’s good playing the guitar but when there’s vocals to be done, I’m the f***ing man.”

Liam has no regrets about his colourful past. He said: “You have to live a little, get into scrapes.

“I’m not proud of it but I wouldn’t change it for the world. It’s beautiful.” ●As You Were is out now on Warner Brothers. Liam headlines Parklife this summer.

I’d love to get out there. I’m disgusted at the way we split up LIAM ON AN OASIS REUNION
